Day of Silence (Zazenkai)"Zazenkai"
is a one-day intensive meditation "retreat”. The day includes sitting and
walking meditation, plus a teisho (teaching and encouragement talk) and
daisan (private encounter on practice) with Sensei. The day usually starts
at 8:30am and goes until 4:30pm. Coffee, tea, snacks and cold drinks will be provided. Please
bring a brown bag lunch. A $10.00
donation is requested and registration is appreciated. Please check the calendar for the next
zazenkai. Walt Whitman wrote in his poem,
Leaves of Grass, "I am large. I contain multitudes." This can be
interpreted as an invitation to explore who we are, and realize that we are
more than we think. It is in this spirit that the Empty Bowl Zendo invites you
to our day long zazen intensive. Zazenkai offers a wonderful opportunity to
deepen our practice together. In the midst of our busy lives zazenkai
provides the chance to drop into a day of stillness where we can re-connect
to our true self that has no boundaries. Please register at least a week
in advance, by sending an email to the registrar with your name, phone number
and the date of the zazenkai you wish to attend. Confirmation of your
reservation will follow. Our next Day of Silence is Saturday, May 10th, 2008 To register, send an email to the address below Email
