EMPTY BOWL ZEN ANNUAL DANA LETTER
Here at EBZ something extraordinary is happening. Here, people have a space to come together, meditate and look deeply at the questions of how to live a life that matters. In these uncertain times having a practice community where we can do that is both wonderful and important. At Empty Bowl Zendo we have exactly that. Here we focus not on what people believe or think but what they do, how they do it, not just for ourselves but in service to others.
In this regard we’ve had a good year. We are in the midst of several students studying to receive the precepts and we’ve held residential and non-residential retreats in addition to monthly one day intensives. We have book study at our dharma circle gatherings and periodic classes on calligraphy and in the new year hope to bring in poet Adele Kenny for a workshop on haiku and haibun poetry.
We are also happy to announce that this spring we will have a new teacher as Michele Onryu Daniels receives dharma transmission and takes the teaching stick. We offer regular meditation every week, where we have dharma talks and personal interviews available with an authorized teacher about practice. And you can go to our website to listen to talks from me and other teachers from past retreats and gatherings.
All this is available to you but we can’t do all this without your financial support. It all depends on your generosity to keep our community open and growing.
Please send your tax deductible checks to: Empty Bowl Zendo, PO Box 640, Morristown, NJ 07963-0640 or click on the PayPal link and thank you for your generosity.
