ANGO
Ango means “peaceful dwelling”. It is an intensive study and practice period either on your own or in a more formal way with the sangha. This is a personal choice for each practitioner and can include increasing the amount of time spent each day in Zazen, studying or learning sutras, helping more with the upkeep of the Zendo, or working on compassionate practices such as helping the homeless or needy.
The opening of our Ango begins September 12th during our fall sesshin and ends November 8th at our monthly Zazenkai.
If you wish to participate in Ango at Stella Maris, please mention it when registering for the sesshin. Several weeks prior to the sesshin we’ll send you more information about it.
In addition we will
begin a study of the Heart Sutra as part of Ango using Roshi Glassman’s book,
