A Sesshin is an opportunity to deepen one's practice, strengthened by the presence of others doing the same. This type of practice is a group activity, and can become an inspiring spiritual experience for everyone, irrespective of previous experience and religious affiliation.
This sesshin includes sitting, walking meditation, and dharma talks,. There are also rest breaks, meals, and short periods of work practice (samu); and even these activities should be done with the fullest possible attention. Other activities include a practice circle, and daisan (private encounter on practice) with Sensei. We will also begin this year's Ango period during this sesshin. If you wish to participate in Ango at Stella Maris, please mention it when registering for the sesshin. Several weeks prior to the sesshin we’ll send you more information about it.
